Colorful Blind

COLORFUL BLIND

My journey from color to blind

I’m starting this blog to document my slow transition to blindness so that if you like you can make this journey with me.

It started about four years, when the doctor said I would be slowly going blind.

Two years ago I was diagnosed legally blind.

I’m already handclapped.

So, you could imagine at this point there was a lot of questions and fear. But with my military training I have learned how to overcome the fear and ask a lot of questions. My intertwisting as a mother/Grandmother /Wife and worked in the emergency room till I came handicapped all helped to make this process go easier, along with my two home health aides.

One of which had me make a bucket list of things I wanted to see before I lost my site, and the other one helps me by keeping my creative side going.

More about that on my next post.

NEW DAY TWO

Hi, hope you are well

I think I forgot to tell you my name I’m Cyndi I live in SW Florida, I’m half scotch and half is Italian, I have two sons and two grandchildren that which live in New Hampshire which is where I grew up.

I guess I left off with my girls well they’re not really girls. But the two women are Elli and Vi my home health health aides are really good, but i don’t consider them home health, I consider them friends.

They are both so different from each other all most opposites, Ellis’s girly and crafty, while vi would rather be fishing and spending time with her girls. So, they help me with my blindness in different ways

One day after a walk Elli and I sat out back on my patio, Its L shaped so the wind blows through it making it a nice place to sit and relax, she said how nice it was, but I said ya but its white house the shed and porch. Then I got thinking about the shed. We brainstormed a little bit and decided to make the shed look like a dogwood tree (there a story about the trees. ) With its blossoms surrounded by green grass, flowers and butterfly’s but I told her that I like to do it with recycled stuff and off it went. And now it’s my whole back yard.

Everything came out of my head and Elli was my hands and my cheerleader. I going to show you how it all went together and how you can do some of the recycling projects.
